Music does not stop at the patient's bedside.

Before beginning a session, consider everyone who may hear the music.

This may include:

• Other patients sharing the room
• Family members
• Visitors
• Physicians and other healthcare providers
• Hospital staff

Sound travels.

The music should be appropriate for the environment and for the people who may be affected by it.
